Corporal Martin Zebersky was a crewman, Gunner, on B-24 42-51692 (Captain Henry J. Kreiensieck crew) of the 759th Bomber Squadron, 459th Bomber Group. On August 22, 1944, Zebersky's plane was on a mission to the Blechhammer Oil Refinery (in what is now Blachownia lska, Poland). The plane was damaged during the mission and crashed at this location; Corporal Zebersky was killed and the rest of the crew was able to successfully parachute from the aircraft. They were all taken as POWs.
