<< Back to Houffalize Town Square

Plaque This plaque consists of bronze plaque that is mounted on a larger, rectangular gray stone plaque. The bronze part of the plaque is located on the left hand side and features an English inscription dedicated to the 17th Airborne Division and their participation in the liberation of Houffalize. This part of the plaque also contains a depiction of the town of Houffalize along the bottom as well as the Airborne Parachutist Badge and the "Talon" insignia of the 17th Airborne Division. On the right side of the stone part of the plaque, there is a short French inscription that describes how the 17th Airborne Division assisted the 11th Armored Division after their hard fought capture of Houffalize.
