When Richard W. Cutler was born in 1920, his father, Harry, was 26 and his mother, Mary, was 22. He had one daughter with Jessie Mae Hahn Cutler Rollins Lynn. He entered the military service in Ohio and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in Company I, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He was Killed in Action on January 3, 1945 during the unit’s attack on Fosse, Belgium and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
