When Herbert E. Fritts was born on August 29, 1922, his father, John, was 24 and his mother, Frances, was 23. He had two brothers. Pilot of the P-51B (42-106874) WR F, he crashed against a train that he strafed with Lieutenant Fortier, probably touched by flak and didn't pull out in time. He is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
