When Glenn W. Dearth was born in 1924 in West Virginia, his father, Warden, was 24 and his mother, Gretta, was 22. He entered the service in Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Army during the Normandy Invasion of World War II as a Private First Class in C Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. He married Dorothy Lucille Webb on June 30, 1947, in Columbiana, Ohio. He died on April 5, 1982 and is now buried in Calcutta United Presbyterian Cemetery, Calcutta, Columbiana County, Ohio, USA.
