<< Back to Brieulles-sur-Meuse Roadside

Details:

The 5th Infantry Division Stele of Brieulles is located on the north side of D123 between the road and a set of train tracks. Marker This white concrete pillar rests on a plain concrete base and features an inscription describing the importance of the place and two representations of the 5th U.S. Infantry Division's Red Diamond insignia, a smaller one above the inscription and a large one that is visible to oncoming traffic. The 5th Infantry Division trained with French troops during June 1918 and entered combat immediately after their training ended.
