5th Infantry Division Stele of Juvigny-sur-Loison (South)

<< Back to Juvigny-sur-Loison (South)

Details:

The monument is located on the east side of the D110 highway 150 meters south of a farm called "Ferme de Hugne." (There is a small white roadside that marks the driveway of the farm.) Just next to the memorial there is a road side that warns of upcoming bends in the road. The monument is enclosed in its own wire fence.  Marker This white concrete monument rests on a concrete base and bears a plaque containing a description of the 5th Infantry Division's advance as well as several representations of the division's "Red Diamond" insignia. Two large diamonds are visible to oncoming traffic from both the north and south. A smaller diamond faces the road on the same side of the monument as the plaque.

This monument has recently been refurbished and repainted thanks to the support of Le Souvenir Français and its partners.
