517th PIR and 505th PIR Plaque

Details:

This plaque is located just inside the southern wall of the church, in front of the church's bell tower. Plaque This black and gray granite plaque is attached to a rough tan field stone and is surrounded by several small flowering bushes. Along the top of the plaque are the insignia of the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment (left), the 82nd Airborne Division (center), and the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment. The plaque's bilingual English and French inscription commemorates the great sacrifice of American paratroopers during the Battle of the Bulge.
