Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts WW2 Malta Commemoration Plaque

The plaque is located on a interior column in about the center of the colonnade in the upper gardens. 

Plaque

The plaque is white marble rectangle about 4 feet by 2.5 feet hanging on a column of the Upper Barrakka Gardens.  There is an American flag in the upper left corner and a World War II Service medal in the upper right.  Text on the plaque is inscribed in black with the Emblem of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts in the center.

 

The plaque commemorates the memory of the American service persons who fought to preserve Malta’s freedom during the Second World War.  The plaque was dedicated on October 10, 2015 by the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts in the presence of Malta’s Minister for Home Affairs and National Security and Maltese military members.
