Details:

On the south (water) side of Larne Road (A2) Museum The ancestral home of US President Andrew Jackson is now a museum. Jackson's parents immigrated from here to the US in 1765. The original cottage was torn down in 1860 when the railway was constructed. There is a blue plaque about 50 meters west that marks the location of the original cottage. The museum contains an exhibition of the life and career of Andrew Jackson. The rooms of the cottage have been restored to their original state and decorated as a traditional cottage of the time period.
