Town Hall Liberation Plaque

Details:

In the courtyard at the south side of the town hall. The memorial is set on the curved garden bed on the right hand side of the gate upon entry.


Plaque

A blue rectangular plaque with white border inscribed in French and English text with white lettering which commemorates the 3rd Infantry Division for liberating the La Garde-Adhémar on August 27, 1944 from German rule. Printed on the top of the plaque are the La Garde-Adhémar logo, US Flag, and the 3rd Infantry Division insignia. The plaque is attached on a rough-hewn stone and is almost identical to the liberation plaque placed in the courtyard of the Benoit farm at the southern outskirts of the town.
