Piolenc Liberation Plaque

Details:

Attached on the free-standing stele between the Piolenc main war monument and another small monument. The plaque is placed below the white Piolencian liberators plaque.


Plaque

A semi-clear, rectangular plexiglass plaque inscribed in French and English text with black lettering. Printed in colors on the top of the plaque are the Piolenc blazon, US flag, and the 3rd Infantry Division insignia followed by the dedication message and the 3rd Infantry Division crest. The plaque commemorates the 3rd Infantry Division for liberating their town on August 26, 1944 from German forces.
