Located in a large field north of the D3 (Avenue de Paris), between the D3 and the railroad tracks, north west of the village of Souilly.

Monument
A large local inscribed stone with chains around it.

The memorial remembers Daniel 'Dodd' Cassard (born 1894 in Cook County, IL and from Grand Rapids, MI) of the 147th Aero Squadron who was killed here on July 16, 1918 after a dogfight. At least one enemy plane iOS credited to Pilot Cassard.

Note: This is private property. The owner does not want tourists trespassing on his land. This is the field where Daniel W. Cassard was killed in action during WWI.
