Plaque

A rectangular metal plaque within a wooden frame. The plaque is inscribed with a commemoration message and in between the message is the seal of the U.S. Department of the Air Force. On the left-hand side of the plaque is an engraved flag of the USA with an airplane illustration below while on the right-hand side is the United Kingdom flag that also has an airplane illustration below it. The plaque was unveiled on August 30, 1997. This plaque is placed above a large plaque with a map that has the heading “WARTIME AIR CRASHES IN ARRAN 1939-45.”
