Monument
An orange stele in the shape of a propellor blade bearing a white plaque. The plaque is printed with a commemoration message that is written in French as well as images of the 8th Air Force insignia, an etching of a P-51 Mustang, and a French Remembrance logo. On August 2, 1944, 2Lt Gowing was Killed in Action when his plane was shot down by flak and crashed at Caucourt during a mission. He was killed when he ejected at too low an altitude.
