Monument
A grey granite stele with a plexi glass sign in French text honoring the eight men of the B-24 Liberator 'Gunga Din' (41-29505) who crashed here on February 6, 1945.

The crew (857th Squadron, 492nd Bomber Group) performing a night training exercise for Operation Carpetbagger near Lyons when an engine failed, forcing the captain to divert to Lyons-Bron Airport to attempt an emergency landing but the plane crashed. One crew member was injured while eight others were killed.
