Details:

In the woods to the east of Fremifontaine, on the rue des Grands Jardins. Monument A granite stele with gold leaf inscription and french text, on which is mounted a bronze plaque with the English translation. The monument was inaugurated on 23 October 1999 and honors the soldiers of the 45th Infantry Division who liberated the town.

Frémifontaine à ses libérateurs Les soldats de la 45è Division d’infanterie des U.S.A. livrèrent sur le territoire de la commune du 30 sept. au 24 oct.1944 des combats parmi les plus acharnés de la bataille des Vosges plus de cent d’entre eux y tombèrent Passant souviens toi !
