Maj General John S. Wood Monument and Tank (4th Armored Division)

Memorial located on the north side of the D-914 facing the road. It is situated in a roadside clearing with residential buildings nearby. Combat Vehicle
This monument includes a granite plaque atop a small stone pedestal at the base of an M4 Sherman tank. The plaque features French text in gold leaf with unit insignia.
The memorial was placed to commemorate the service of Major General John Shirley Wood, the Commander of the 4th Armored "Breakthrough" Division during the large tank battle known as the "Battle of Arracourt" (September 18-29, 1944). A flag pole stands on each side of the monument, and a display of the battle is immediately to the east.
