On the outside wall of the city hall. As you are facing the building, the plaque is on the base of the building to the right of the staircase.  Plaque A bronze plaque put in place by the American YMCA to thank the citizens of Cauterets for their generous welcome during the First World War.  Text in French and English

Cette plaque a été apposée par la Young Men’s Christian Association des Etats-Unis en remerciement de l’hospitalité quelle a reçu des citoyens de cette ville pendant la grande guerre alors que les soldats américaines ont été autorisé à utiliser cette demeure pour leur repos et pour leur récréation.  \

This tablet is placed by the Young Men’s Christian Association of the United States in appreciation of the hospitality of the citizens of this town during the Great War when the American soldiers were permitted to use this building for rest and recreation.
