Located at the easternmost point of the park/garden area near the intersection of the D514 and Rue Gambetta Plaque This plaque on stone memorial commemorates the actions of Technical Sergeant frank Peregory who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for capturing 35 enemy soldiers by attacking with his bayonet and grenades.

Le 8 Juin 1944 les elements avances du 3eme Bataillon du 116eme Regt d'Infanterie furent arretes par le feu mourtrier d'une mitrailleuse allemande.
Le Sergent Frank Peregory attaqua l'ennemi de facon intrepide a la grenade et a la baionnette.
Il forca a lui scul la reddition de 35 soldats.
Le courage et la bravoure dont a fait preuve ce soldat americain lui valurent la plus haute distinction: La Medaille d'Honneur
On 8 June 1944, advance elements of the 3rd Bn. 116th Regiment were halted by the deadly fire of a German machinegun.
T/Sgt Frank Peregory
attacked the enemy with daring using Grenades and his Bayonet.
He captured 35 enemy
soldiers.
For the valor and courage demonstrated by this American soldier during this action, he was awarded the highest U.S. military decoration: The Medal of Honor.
