A rectangular bronze plaque commemorating the birthplace of Commodore John Paul Jones, born in Kirkbean on July 6, 1747, and revered as a distinguished naval hero of the American Revolution. It was installed in 1953 by the Naval Historical Foundation and the Washington, D.C., Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
