The plaque members the 85th Infantry Division, the "Custer Division" efforts to breach the "Gothic Line as part of the North Apennines Campaign in Italy in 1944.

85th Infantry Division Symbol

In honor of the soldiers of the 85th Infantry Division who helped breach 
the Gothic Line in 1944.  May this memorial serve as a marker of their
mission to liberate Italy.
