Located in plot 9, row A, grave 9 Isolated Burial A concrete headstone with a circle carved into it and a cross in the center of the circle. The name and information are carved into the headstone underneath the cross. 


The isolated site of burial is that of Ervin David Shaw, a first lieutenant in the U.S. Signal Reserve Corps and a pilot during World War I. In England, Shaw was attached to the 48th Squadron, RAF, British Expeditionary Force. He died on July 9, 1918 near Grandcourt. He is buried in a common grave with Sgt T. W. Smith. 

Shaw Air Foce Base in Sumter, South Carolina is named in his honor.
