Inside the walls surrounding the old internment camp. Museum The museum, consisting of the barracks buildings which now contain several exhibits, commemorates the lives of the many internees who suffered and died here while waiting to be transported to concentration camps from June 1941 to August 1944. Throughout the museum, there are deportation letters, news clippings, map layouts of the camp, drawings depicting the lives of the internees, and many other artifacts taken from that time lining the walls of the barracks. The museum also contains several screens, projectors, and speakers that serve as part of the tour and provide further information on the history of this internment camp. In particular, Camp B within the internment camp was used to hold civilian American detainees. Aside from the barracks, the museum also consists of the Garden of Memory, a chapel, and the escape tunnel used by the internees during the war.
