A stone bench in a grove of trees engraved with French text, in memory of LT Ovington, Lafayette Escadrille pilot, who crashed in the area after a midair collision.  Repose toi.  Assieds toi.

A la mémoire du lieutenant américain Carter Landrum Ovington, membre du Lafayette Flying Corps, volontaire dans l'aviation française, tombe dans cette région le 29 mai 1918 dans sa vingt-et-unième année.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:  

In memory of American Lieutenant Carter Landrum Ovington, member of the Lafayette Flying Corps, volunteer in French aviation, who fell in this region on 20 May 1918 in his 21st year.
