Details:

On the D-210 (rue Royal) at its intersection with the Voie de la Liberte and the Chemin de la Halage. The small traffic island is on the east back of the river Seine at the Pont de Valvins.

A stone monument with a bronze plaque with French text, commemorating the 3rd Army's crossing of the Seine River at this spot.

Monument Text:

General George S. Patton Sous son commandement la troisième Armée américain appuyées par ses camarades français à traverse la Seine a cet endroit le vingt trois aout 1944. Cette plaque a été posée par les anciennes combattantes de la troisième Armée américain à la mémoire de leur commandant.


ENGLISH TRANSLATION: Under his command the Third US Army, supported by their French comrades, crossed the Seine here on 23 August 1944. This plaque was put here by the veterans of the Third Army in memory of their Commander.
