George Seymore entered the military service in Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company K, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on July 18, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as Seymour.
