Arthur B. Kossow was born on January 5, 1918 in Fort Morgan, Alabama to Ernest Frederick and Lillian Josephine. He enlisted with the United States Army National Guard on November 25, 1940, in Pritchard, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in Company I, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He was Killed in Action on January 3, 1945 during the unit’s assault of Fosse, Belgium and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
