When Clyde Tomlinson was born on July 6, 1899, his father, Ira, was 37 and his mother, Eugenia, was 27. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in Company B, 3rd Machine Gun Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 19, 1918 (at the age of 19) and is now buried in Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery, New Zion, Clarendon County, South Carolina, USA.
