When Edmund Thibertus Nusbaum was born on August 11, 1895, in Michigan, his father, John, was 33 and his mother, Therasa, was 32. He had four brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company A, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 9, 1918 (at the age of 23) and is now buried in Saint Anthony's Cemetery, Monroe County, Michigan, USA.
