When George E. Dyer was born on May 13, 1893, in Marysville, New Brunswick, Canada, his father, Dudley, was 27 and his mother, Mary, was 29. He had one brother and one sister. He entered the military service in Maine and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Company H, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 7, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
