When Glenn Stanley Simonson was born on March 20, 1893, in Waushara, Wisconsin, his father, Zacharius, was 34 and his mother, Ingaborg, was 28. He had three brothers and five sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company M, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 4, 1918 (at the age of 25) in France and is now buried in Mount Morris Holden Lutheran Cemetery, Mount Morris, Waushara County, Wisconsin, USA.
