When David Bryan Reavill was born on September 24, 1896, in Crawford, Illinois, his father, Charles, was 33 and his mother, Virginia, was 24. He had three brothers and four sisters. He enlisted in the 16th U. S. Infantry on May 10th, 1917 and was sent to Jefferson Barracks St. Louis, Mo. and from there to Texas and then overseas on June 27th 1917.
He was killed in action on October 4, 1918 (at the age of 22) and is now buried in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. He also has a marker in Jones Cemetery, Flat Rock, Crawford County, Illinois, USA.
