When Floyd E. Buster was born on April 28, 1894, in Kansas, his father, Henry, was 34 and his mother, Ellen, was 27. He had two brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Machine Gun Company, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 9, 1918 (at the age of 24) in France and is now buried in La Harpe Cemetery, La Harpe, Allen County, Kansas, USA.
