When Albert Seeland was born in April 1893 in Minnesota, his father, Mikkel, was 48 and his mother, Ingeri, was 39. He had two brothers and five sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company A, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 6, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
