When Robert H Graves was born on December 17, 1886, in Choctaw, Mississippi, his father, Winston, was 32 and his mother, Sarah, was 26. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in Company B, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on October 19, 1918 at the age of 31 and is now buried in Bethlehem Cemetery, Ackerman, Choctaw County, Mississippi, USA.
