When Chester Elmer Schulz was born on October 6, 1892, in Indiana, his father, Albert, was 30 and his mother, Gertrude, was 33. He had two brothers and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in Company K, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on November 7, 1918 and is now buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana, USA. His name was recently added to First Infantry Division in Wadelincourt, France, 100 years after the war.
