When Isidor Starr was born on December 23, 1894, his father, Hyman, was 28 and his mother, Ida, was 29. He entered the military service in New York and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Supply Sergeant in Company D, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 10, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument in Saint-Juvin, France and ranked as a Private.
