When Edmund Frederick Frilling was born on February 18, 1895, in Kentucky, his father, Henry, was 27 and his mother, Rosa, was 23. He had two brothers. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company E, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 11, 1918 (at the age of 22) in France and is now buried in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Kenton County, Kentucky, USA.
