When Charles Calvin Crow was born on April 17, 1896, in Confluence, Pennsylvania, his father, Norval, was 27 and his mother, Ella, was 22. He had two brothers and two sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in HQ Company, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 6, 1918 in Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-Avold, Departement de la Moselle, Lorraine, France, France at the age of 22 and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
