Son of Isaac L. and Mary Ella Rockey; born March 30, 1896 in Harrison Township, Howard County, Indiana. Entered service on December 17, 1917 and was sent to Camp Taylor, Kentucky. Transferred to Camp Merritt, New Jersey, and went overseas in April 1918. Assigned to Battery E, 6th Field Artillery. While participating in the Argonne Drive, he was killed in action on October 1, 1918. Buried in Argonne, American Cemetery, Romagne, France. Died at age 22 years, 6 months, 3 days. Time in service: 9 months, 15 days.
