James Henry Scorse was born in August 1894 in New York. He married Rose Adell Sanderson on February 8, 1917 and had one child during their marriage. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in HQ Company, 7th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Division. He was Killed in Action on October 4, 1918 in France at the age of 24 and is now buried in Falls Cemetery, Greece, Monroe County, New York, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument in Saint-Juvin, France and ranked as a Private.
