When Jacob Frank Dunsing was born on June 7, 1886, in Illinois, his father, Henry, was 30 and his mother, Amanda, was 30. He had four brothers. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company D, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 4, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument in St. Juvin, France under the MISSING IN ACTION section.
