When Dominic Bolchen was born on October 25, 1887, in Wisconsin, his father, Peter, was 46 and his mother, Katherine, was 43. He had one sister.He entered the military service in Wisconsin and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company G, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 4, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Boscobel Cemetery, Boscobel, Grant County, Wisconsin, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument in St. Juvin, France under the MISSING IN ACTION section.
