Lonnie C. Blair was born on August 5, 1899 in Macclenny, Baker County, Florida. He was the son of George Richard Blair and Lucretia Driggers Blair. He entered the military service in Georgia and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company A, 3rd Machine Gun Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 4, 1918 and was initially memorialized at Tablets of the Missing, Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France and is currently buried there.
