Clarence Chris Strubbe, aged 32, was born on July 11, 1911 in Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska. He was the son of Chris Henry Strubbe and Minnie Kulla Strubbe Catuska. His family have moved to University Place, he attended Jackson high school and graduated in the class of 1927. He joined the Fourth Presbyterian church on July 14, 1932 and was married there on Sept. 3, 1937 to Dorothy Dye. They moved to Los Angeles in May of 1939. He entered the armed services in August, 1941 as an infantryman. He went overseas in February, 1944 and saw service in Africa before being transferred to Italy in June. Clarence served in the 363rd Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division as a Technical Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 5, 1944 during the battle on the Anzio beachhead, Italy and is now buried in the Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska, USA.
