Anthony Prucnal was born in 1916 in Massachusetts. He was the son of Martin and Mary Prucnal. Anthony served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Captain in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France and is now buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument in Omaha Beach, France but his surname is inscribed as Pruncnal.
