Edmund W. Duckworth was born on April 1, 1921 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the Army in February 1941. Edmund entered the military service in Pennsylvania and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a First Lieutenant in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France and is now buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
