Dwight L. Roddey was born on March 28, 1911. He was the son of Frank Norman Roddey and Mary Neely Blanks Roddey. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sergeant in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France and is now buried in El Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Chester County, South Carolina, USA.
