Raymond R. Moorhead was born in 1924. He was the son of Waldo S. Moorhead and Viola Maude Moore Moorhead. Raymond attended McComb high school and was an active member of the McComb Presbyterian church and the Hancock County Presbyterian Larger Parish youth group. He entered military service on April 30, 1943, and went overseas the following November. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France and is now buried in McComb Union Cemetery, McComb, Hancock County, Ohio, USA.
